Major Festival of M.P.  (मध्य प्रदेश का महामहोत्सव )

Samaroh & Utsav

Samaroh is in memory of someone or based on some theme while festivals are organized for festivity & joy.

1) Tansen Samaroh: It is organized by deptt of culture & M.P. kala parishad since 1980 at…..Gwalior&Behat.

Awards : Till now , the main participants are :Asgari bai(Dhrupad singer), Ustad Bismillah khan, Ustad Nasir   AmiruddinDagar, Gangubaihangel( singer of the khyal genre ) etc.

2) Amir Khan Samaroh : He was a renowned khayal singer .He developed Bhindi Bazar style of khayal.

.It is organized by UstadAllauddin khan sangeet academy at Indore , in Feb for 2 days .Till now participants are : Pt. Amarnath, Mahendra Sharma, Rajkumar Mishra .

3) Kumar GandharvSamaroh : Organized by UstadAllauddin khan sangeet academy at ..Dewas.It’s main participants are –- Raghunath seth – flute player. Vasundhara Komkali – singer , Veena Sahastrabuddhe – singer, V.G. Jog- Violin player

4) Kalidas Samaroh: at Ujjain on Davuthani Ekadashi, Organized by – Kalidas academy, Ujjain .It is based on theatre, exhibition,  painting, performing arts, literature whose central theme is kalidas.

5) UstadAllauddin khan Samaroh : At Maihar (Satna)by UstadAllauddin khan academy. It is based on instruments of music. Maihar band which was established by him  shows its performance every year.

6) Dhrupad Samaroh : organized by UstadAllauddin khan academy Bhopal.

7) Makhanlal Chaturvedi Samaroh – Organized in …Khandva every year .

8) DurlabhVad-vinodSamaroh : At Bhopal by UstadAllauddin khan academy .It is based on instruments which rarely found.

Festivals of M.P. / मध्य प्रदेश का महामहोत्सव

1) KhujarahoUtsav : Khajuraho is in the worlds cultural heritage list . In the …vicinity  ofKandariya Mahadev temple this festival is organized since 1975 .  It is organized by..deptt. of culture & M.P. Kala Parishad .It was participated by following renowned dancers …….Vaijayanti Mala Bali , Mallika Sarabhai , Hema Malini, Jhaveri sisters – Manipuri dance , Kelucharan Mahapatra – Oddisi dance , KattiNaiyar – Kathakali , Chandralekha – Modern dancer

2) NimarUtsav :Nimarutsav is organized on the banks of the holy river Narmada(Maheshwar) .It is started in 1994 in Maheshwar .It is organized by M.P. Tourism , M.P. tribal folk art council  , M.P. Sahitya Parishad. For performing arts like theatre, dancing, visual arts ,kite flying , boat racing is performed .

3) MalwaUtsav :It is celebrated in month of Sep.  It is organized bu MP Tourism&Adivasilok kala parishad for 5 days at Indore and  for 2 days at Ujjain.Maach ,kathi, Panthi,Gangour these theatre / folk dances are performed. Exhibitions & stalls of visual arts, handicraft etc are organised.

4) PanchmarhiUtsav : It is organized by M.P. Tourism with M.P. kala Parishad& Adivasi lok kala parishad between  Oct to Dec. It is a  Mixture of tribal perform art & visual arts .Gour dance of Maria, Saila dance, Sahariya dance, Korku dance, Chandeni dance , Rai, swang, Mach of Malwa, Pandwani of C.G., Chhou dance of Bihar are performed.

5) OrchaUtsav : It is organized every year at Teekamgarh.It is based on …Bundelkhandilok kala , dance , literature , drama etc.

6) Bhopal Utsav Mela  ( Dec-Jan) –It is a mixture of….trade, culture, entertainment. Govt. provides discount on it .

2) Fare of kanababa : It is organized at Hoshangabad,??????? 

3) Fare of Peer Budhan: It is organized at Shivpuri.

4) Fare of Mahamritunjay: organized at atRewa , on Mashivratri

5)Tejaji : organized at Hoshangabad.

6) Singaji : It is organized at Pipalya (Harsood)

7) Shivratri:It At Bhojpur&Panchmarhi .

8)Mandhata : It is organized at Distt. Khandwa, at Shivji temple

9) DhamoniUrsa :It is organized at  Sagar, memory of Mastaan Shah

10) Garibnath baba Ka mela : In Memory of Shivji- organized by Nath saint at Shajapur.

11)kalujiMaharaj :  It is  organized at Pipalyakhaurd. Distt. Khargon.In memory of nepew of saint singing kalujimaharaj .

12)Madai ka mela :Madai

13) Gotmar mela- It is organized at Pandurna ,Chindwara.

14) Hingolimela: It is organized atIndore,  fire stones are pelted by people on each other.

15) Gwalior mela : M.P’s oldest , Biggest trade fare , govt. declares tax concession.

16) Gangourmela: It is organized at Malwa area. , mela of unmarried girls & newly married woman, Gauri – Parvati is worshiped.

17) AkshayTritiya: It is celebrated in the month of April. All over M.P. the …women request for long life of their husband.

18)Bhujariya ka mela – It is related with stories of ….Alaha& Udal . It is Celebrated in Baghelkhand area.

19) Dusshere ka mela – It is celebrated in all M.P .

20)Bhagoriyon ka mela - It is celebrated in Jhabuadistrict.

21) Moharram ka mela – It is observed by Shia community to commemorate the sacrifice of Imam Husain.

22) Kumbh ka mela – Kumbh takes place every twelve years on the bank of river Sherpa  in Ujjain . It is also called SimhasthaMela .

23)Ijjitma – Every year it is organized in Eatkhedi in Bhopal but Previously it was celebrated in the premises of the Taj- ul- Masjid . It carries some of the greatest spiritual messages, not only for the Muslims but also for the non- Muslims around the world.
