Why in News?

The Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2020 was passed by the Parliament.

The Bill amends the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010 regarding non-governmental organisations (NGOs) without debate.

FCRA, 2010 was enacted to regulate the acceptance and utilisation of foreign contribution or foreign hospitality for any activities detrimental to “national interest”.
