BHARAT 6G ALLIANCE
Why in news?:
Bharat 6G Alliance - an alliance of domestic industry, academia, national research institutions and standards organizations to chart its own course of action based on the Bharat 6G Vision Document.
Aim: To foster international collaboration, forge coalitions with global 6G alliances, and drive the design, development, and deployment of 6G technologies in India.
Objectives of B6GA:
To enable India to become a leading global supplier of intellectual property, products and solutions of affordable 5G and 6G and other future telecom solutions.
To deploy 6G technologies to act as a powerful force multiplier for India by 2030.
To understand the business and societal needs of 6G beyond technology requirements.
To develop recommendations for Bharat 6G Vision implementation readiness in India.
What is 6G Technology? :
Successor of 5G technology, which is currently being deployed in various countries, including India.
Itoffer speeds up to 100 times faster than 5G, as well as ultra-low latency, high reliability, and massive connectivity.
It will enable new applications and services such as holographic communication, brain-computer interface, quantum internet, and artificial intelligence.
Bharat 6G Mission:
The research and start-up ecosystem will be tapped to bring innovations and new ideas to the table.
Adequate provisions for financial support will be made available. The Mission will be completed in two phases:
- Phase 1 from 2023-2025 (2 years)
- Phase 2 from 2025-2030 (5 years)
Vision of Bharat 6G:
To Design, develop and deploy 6G network technologies that provide ubiquitous, intelligent and secure connectivity for high quality living experience for the world.
Principles of 6G:
- Principles of Affordability, Sustainability, and Ubiquity aligned with the national Vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat
- It will ensures that India takes its rightful place in the world as a leading supplier of advanced telecom technologies and solutions that are affordable and contribute to the global good.
